Soul Care Series, Part 1

"Caring for ourselves is an act of honoring the temples God has given us." - Debra Filta Soul Care
"Caring for ourselves is an act of honoring the temples God has given us." - Debra Filta Soul Care

Many of us enjoy the idea of starting fresh, but the reality is that New Year’s resolutions often don’t last. We’ve all set ambitious goals, only to lose momentum and find ourselves saying, “I’ll start again on Monday.” Instead of clinging to this resolution mindset, let’s embrace the new year as an opportunity to be resolute.

"Resolute" means being purposeful, determined, and steadfast.

As followers of Jesus, we can embody this resoluteness through practices and rhythms that nurture our souls, ultimately enhancing our physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. By drawing wisdom from Scripture and the life of Jesus, we discover these rhythms that God designed to help us lead a complete life in a fractured world. Our hectic lifestyles often result in feelings of emptiness, exhaustion, and burnout, which are not aligned with God's design. Rather, God's plan and Jesus' example guide us on how to live a fulfilling life, even in the face of challenges and adversity. As Jesus states in John 10:10:

"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full"

I invite you to join us on this journey. In our first week, we will assess why we as Christians often struggle with the idea of self-care. We will discuss how prioritizing soul care can profoundly influence your marriage, children, family, friends, career, and ministry, creating a ripple effect that enhances every aspect of your life. Finally, we examined how our beliefs about self-care were shaped by our family of origin and how they modeled or did not model soul care.

Are you curious, or wondering why this is important? Take a listen to this week's episode on @HOME the Podcast as I share my testimony and struggle with soul care. And those of you looking for a Deeper Dive follow along by reading or listening to: SOUL CARE by Debra Fileta

This post on soul care is such a necessary reminder to slow down, especially when life feels like a non-stop sprint! I’ve been feeling completely drained lately trying to balance my spiritual health with a massive research project on the zara information technology strategy for my business degree. It’s honestly been a struggle to find any "soul care" time when I’m constantly buried in data and supply chain analysis, and I actually had to reach out for some New Assignment Help just to get my draft under control so I could finally breathe. Taking a moment to read this really helped me reset my perspective—it’s so easy to let academic stress drown out everything else, but prioritizing that inner peace is what…

This "Soul Care" series is such a breath of fresh air, especially during a time when it feels like we’re all constantly running on empty. I’ve been trying to focus more on my mental well-being lately, but honestly, balancing that spiritual reset with the pressure of my final year has been a total mission. I actually found myself looking into expert psychology assignment writers UK just to help manage my heavy research load so I could finally find a moment of peace to sit down and reflect on these lessons. I even had to reach out for some New Assignment Help recently just to get my deadlines under control, because it’s so hard to care for your soul when your mind is…

This series on soul care is exactly what I needed to read today, especially with how overwhelming this semester has been. It’s so easy to let your spiritual health slide when you're constantly racing against deadlines and academic pressure. Honestly, I’ve been feeling so burnt out lately that I actually looked into some New Assignment Help just to take a few tasks off my plate so I could finally have a quiet evening to reflect and recharge. Taking that step to delegate some of my workload has really helped me find the mental space to focus on the "rest" this post talks about. Thank you for the timely reminder to prioritize peace over the constant hustle!

Using technology to increase access to youth mental health support may offer a practical way for young people to reach guidance, safe-spaces, and early help without feeling overwhelmed by traditional systems. Digital platforms, helplines, and apps could give them a chance to seek support privately, connect with trained listeners-orexplore resources that might ease their emotional load. This gentle shift toward tech-based support may encourage youth to open-up at their own pace, especially when in-person help feels too heavy to approach.

There is always a chance that these tools-quietly make support feel closer than before, creating moments where help appears just a tap away. Even a small digital interaction might bring a sense of comfort. And somewhere in that space, you…
